I was talking to one of my colleagues regarding a job opportunity recently and he asked me this question.  How long have you been using LinkedIn?

I knew I joined LinkedIn during my MBA college days but did not remember the exact year. So, I started searching in my LinkedIn account settings and was surprised to discover that I joined LinkedIn on November 14, 2011. I realised that I am using LinkedIn for more than fourteen years now.

I recall receiving the invitation to join LinkedIn from one of my MBA classmates. Thanks to my classmate, I’ve made some amazing connections on LinkedIn over the years, which have significantly helped me in my career.

Step-by-Step Guide to Find when did I/you join LinkedIn in 2025

1.Log into LinkedIn:

• Open your web browser and go to LinkedIn’s website.
• Enter your email/phone and password, then click the “Sign in” button to log into your LinkedIn account.

2.Access Your Profile Settings:

• Once logged in, find the “Me” icon in the top side right corner of your homepage. This icon usually displays your profile picture.
• Click on the “Me” icon to open a drop-down menu.

3.Navigate to Settings & Privacy:

• Choose the “Settings & Privacy” option from the drop-down menu. You are on page settings now.

4.Data Privacy Section:

• On the settings page, you’ll see several tabs on the left side. Select on the “Data privacy” tab. This section handles how LinkedIn uses your data and your privacy settings.

5.Manage Your Data and Activity:

• Search for the option labeled “How LinkedIn uses your data.” In the “Data privacy” section
• Click on “Manage your data and activity” under this section. This will open a detailed view of your LinkedIn activity.

6.Review Your Activity List:

• On the “Manage your data and activity” page, you will see a comprehensive list of your activities on LinkedIn.
• This list includes posts, connections, interactions, and other actions you’ve taken on the platform.

7.Find Your Join Date:

• To find the date you joined LinkedIn, scroll to the bottom of this activity list.
• At the bottom of the activity list. Here, you will notice the “You Joined LinkedIn” entry, which showcase the date when you created your LinkedIn account. In my case it is November 14, 2011.

By following these steps, you can easily locate the exact date you joined LinkedIn. If you encounter any issues or the interface has changed, LinkedIn’s Help Center or customer support can provide additional guidance.
